This environmental impact study was commissioned by the State to explore the regional options for improving transportation possibilities between the Central Business District of New Orleans and Louis Armstrong International Airport in Jefferson Parish, with an eye toward the expansion and improvement of Earhart Expressway and Airline Drive, and the development of a light rail system.
For this project, THA developed and coordinated a public involvement program to increase stakeholder understanding of the study. An interactive project website allowed the public to access updated information as well as background materials on the project, while public meetings enabled residents to speak directly with project team members to voice questions or concerns. THA’s public relations strategy also included the production and placement of print ads and the development of project newsletters.
